In need of heart surgery?
Now, I’m not talking about the type of surgery that comes from a heart attack, I’m talking about your heart of heart. The real deep part of you that feels and hurts and loves.
Heart surgery can come by surprise. Sometimes you need it for past hurts or traumas that you have been dealing with unconsciously. Sometimes it happens with new wounds or fear you’re dealing with currently.
Recently I’ve been in need of heart surgery. I don’t deal well with stress and I have been plastered with it. Everyday something new happened that I had to deal with. I was also dealing with anger and feeling misunderstood/not heard. Those are big emotions that I could not handle on my own.
I wish I could tell you there was an X-ray machine that could X-ray your heart and soul and let you know what you’re dealing with deep down. Since that doesn’t exist we have to go into heart surgery with God.
God is a very kind surgeon. It does hurt at first to bring up the wounds and deep hurt. You can feel the incisions, but as you talk or cry it out with God, a beautiful feeling replaces the hurt and brokenness. A feeling of completion overcomes you. It’s so warm and comforting, it’s like a big hug from God.
Psalm 57:1 ESV: “Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by.”
Sometimes the storms of destruction are inside of us. But God is good and kind and is able to heal you and protect you from the storm.
Ways to start heart surgery is to ask God what is bothering you if you don’t know the reason for your hurt/anger. You can go into praise and worship with Him and he will guide you from there.
Are you facing storms in your life today?
What can you receive today by asking God to perform surgery on your heart?
Are you willing and able to get in a quiet place and receive healing today in your heart?
