Hoping in God, not things
It can be easy to put your hope in your job, your home or your family. But we’re not meant to hope in those things. We are meant to hope in God.
I am a creative and imaginative person so I tend to set big expectations for things. I dream big and crash harder when those dreams don’t come true.
When I set my hope in God, he can never let me down. If my hope is truly in him I won’t feel crushed when I lose my job or I don’t get the house I want.
I think it’s okay to be sad if those things happen but we can have complete faith that God will take care of us when life goes awry and unplanned.
My friend Jacob lost his job a year or two ago from a company he worked for over 5 years. He was a manager and his coworkers loved him. When he was fired because he has miscalculated his Paid Time Off, his coworkers were devastated.
They asked him “Jacob how can you be so calm after being fired?”
He said, “I trust in God. I know he will take care of me.”
God will take care of you. You can place your hope in him. He won’t let you down!
