The Power of Patience

Waiting can be a pain. Waiting in long lines, waiting for a season to end and a new one to start, that is the worst pain. If you’re like me, you’re waiting for something to happen. It’s like the world has stood still and it feels like there’s nothing I can do.

I’m tired of all the waiting. Even though I am tired I am still trusting. I am trusting God because I know he doesn’t make us wait for nothing.

I heard a sermon once that said if you don’t write down the lessons you’ve learned while in the waiting season, you will forget the lessons. Then you’ll have to learn them again. Obviously, you can take that with a grain of salt but I feel like I’ve had a lot of times in my life where I’ve had to wait and be patient.

I’ve had several major surgeries in my life and during recovery you have to wait. You have to wait for your body to heal enough so you can start gaining your strength back. But not every waiting season is like that. You can be building your strength while waiting.

You can praise and worship. You can read your bible. You can do things that will make you stronger so when the waiting ends, you will be ready for what’s next.

Let me tell you patience is like a muscle, it has to be put to work to be made stronger. If your patience has been tested lately and you crumbled under the weight, don’t feel bad. You can look back on the situation and grow from it. You don’t have to let the loses break you.

You’ve probably heard this example before but look at Micheal Jordan. He was rejected somewhere over 20 times from basketball teams in high school. He had to fight for himself to make it on the team. He practiced late, he probably got scared or tired or angry while waiting. But he didn’t stop working for his dream.

God is like that. He doesn’t stop fighting for you. While you are working being patient, he is fighting the battles around you. God has good things for you because he loves you. Just because he has good for us, it doesn’t mean we don’t have trials and hardship.

The enemy sees your potential. He sees how you can grow and who can become and he wants to destroy that. SO don’t be troubled when you see hardship. Just know the enemy is fighting against you but the Lord is fighting for you. He is making good all the bad the enemy is making. Sometimes you won’t be able to see that Good until you are in heaven because maybe your battle is bigger than yourself. Maybe he’s making a way for your future generation.

That’s why we must trust. There are so many good things that have come from the brokenness I’ve experienced. It was hard during it but I knew God was with me. I tried to be patient and now 7 years later I can say with complete certainty God makes a way and he makes all things work for good.

You may not see it now but one day you will. Your patience will be worth it.

YOU will be okay.

My Prayer For You:

Lord we thank you for this day. I pray for everyone reading this that your peace and comfort will come upon them. Show them your love for them. Thank you Lord. Amen.

A Prayer For You To Say:

Lord thank you for what you have done for me. I trust that you are in the planning of my life. I trust that you will take care of me. Thank you for fighting for me and for protecting me. I surrender what has kept my mind busy, that you will take care of it. In your name I pray, Amen.
