Start each day with a grateful heart!
Sometimes life can feel really mundane and tiring.
My first year of college I became depressed and it became difficult to get out of bed in the morning.
That’s when I would state 5 things I was grateful for. It could be anything. Like my bed, dog, fiance, or car. Whatever I thought of I would say it and it gave me the motivation to get up when I all I wanted to do was go back to sleep for the rest of my life lol.
What does the bible say about gratefulness?
Gratitude is spoken of a lot in Psalms, but here is a well known verse:
Psalms 118:1 “Give thanks to the lord for he is good, his love endures forever.”
and in the new testament we see it mentions as well. (this is just 1 verse out of many).
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Even when it’s hard, even on the worst day ever, you can still have things you’re grateful for.
Try this the next time you’re having a rough day or it’s hard to get out of bed or find motivation: say 5 things you’re grateful for.
If you allow yourself to open up, you will feel the difference between an angry, hurting, tired heart and a grateful one.
