A journey
Have you ever had a big goal? Maybe it’s being on a that big soccer team you’ve always dreamed of. Maybe it’s owning a house or getting married. Maybe you have the goal of being happy.
Whatever your goal is, have you thought about what you’ll do after you accomplish it? A coworker of mine told me she works 72 hours a week and in a year she’ll be able to buy a house. That’s so awesome! What a cool goal!
But she also said she has no life. She works the midnight to 7 am shift. Then she goes to another job. What will she do once she has accomplished her goal?
Will she be fulfilled and grateful?
Maybe.
Life is more than just go-go-go. It’s not just a destination, it’s a journey. Yeah it’d be great to have a house and all these things, but life is also about relationship.
Quarantine has taught many of us that community is important. God made us social creatures, and while yes there are introverts and extroverts, even introverts get lonely.
If you try to fill your life with material things and all the achievements that put you on top, you won’t be fulfilled.
WE all have a God shaped hole in our hearts. We try to fill it with love, drugs, work or money, and it never adds up.
Ask God to fill up that hole and you’ll begin to see your life as the beautiful journey it is, it won’t be a competition anymore. God will show you your purpose and your heart will be whole.
