    when depression hits

Recently, feelings of depression have hit me hard. There are a lot of different views on depression and anxiety. If people have told you that what you’re dealing with is not real or that you should think happy thoughts instead you are seen. I hear you. It is very hurtful to be told what you’re dealing with is not valid. God sees you and he hears your heart too. Anxiety and depression are a lot to deal with. It is hard to do things when you are experiencing symptoms of them. I wish I could tell you there was an instant fix to all to these illnesses. As a Christian…

    Choices

Everyday we’re bombarded with choices. What to eat, wear and do. Some choices come easily but what about the choices that don’t? How do you know if you’re doing what’s best? Obviously, it depends on you. Everyone is different so what is good for your family member may not be whats good for you. God has given us freedom of choice so we can be ourselves. It’s okay that you are different than your friends and family. It’s okay to stand out. You are not weird or abnormal. You are perfect the way God has made you. You have to make the choices that are best for you. Sometimes that…

Hearing the heart of the father

Some days you don’t want to do the work you need to do. Laundry piles up or dishes, or maybe you don’t want to be at your job anymore. It’s monotonous and boring, or your managers are jerks. We ALL know how you’re feeling. It’s a weird society now that says you’re lazy if you don’t want to be at your job, or you need to grow and move! You shouldn’t work at that fast food place or you shouldn’t be looking for a new job with higher pay when your job is one with career opportunities! Listen to what God is telling you. There are so many voices that…

    New Beginnings

Do you ever want to start over again? Sometimes we all wish for a redo button to appear in front of us. But we’ve all heard those negative people saying there are no second chances! Says who? That’s my question because guess what? Everyday is the chance to start a new. You can restart your mindset, your goals, your food choices and attitude. It’s never too late to start again. You may be asking how can that be? Maybe you haven’t had second chances before in your life. There are a lot of jobs and schools who lack that sort of grace but let me tell you, my God is…

    The provision of God

It can be hard to lean on God when we don’t know where we’re being led. Has God ever told you to do something and you did it? How did it feel? When something went a wry did you rely on God to provide a way or were you scared or doubting? All of those emotions are normal. I’ve come to learn that if God asked you do something, he will provide a way for you to do it. One of my own experiences was when God asked me to move out of my parents house. Depending on where you live or your family’s beliefs you might think 20 was…

Review of confessions of a shopaholic

I watched “Confessions of a Shopaholic” last night and it was so adorable. It touches on so many subjects that moved my heart. You may be thinking, why in the world are you writing a review/talking about this Y2K movie? This show reminded me of the good in my father! My dad is a gruff man. He can be rough around the edges like many dads. But he can also be very loving and thoughtful. The dad in this movie was funny, he was a bigger guy like my dad, he sat in his recliner in the living room. And he also stood up and fought for his little girl.…

    A little less lonely

At the end of the day it doesn’t matter if you are an introvert or an extrovert. Everyone wants to be around people at some point. People can be exhausting and hard, but we also need people. We Need love, affection, to be heard and listen to others. But how do we deal with this? To be less lonely we will have to take risks. You have to send the text or place the call. You have to invite people and buy food and throw a party. You have to go to the barista and ask for their number since you have the same humor and you need more friends.…

    The bad ain’t all bad

Life isn’t always butterflies and sunshine and beautiful candle smell. It’s full of rot and rust and hurt sometimes. When the hurt is all you can focus on it’s time to find your way back to what you love. that can be a person, hobby, or show. Whatever it is it’s time to find what you love again. Sometimes just listening to some good music can change the state of mind you’ve been in. deleting apps can help for a while too. You don’t have to stay stuck where you’re at. “But what about money?” “What about my circumstance?” You will not be stuck forever. Money isn’t a ruler over…

    Hot girl summer

It’s beginning to be summer time. What does summer time mean? It means warmer weather and less clothing. Less clothing as in shorts and tanks and swim suits. What does that mean? It means people are going to start fad diets and looking at others with envious eyes. Usually envy and jealousy come at weird moments. You don’t want to be envious. You don’t want to be comparing yourself to others. Sometimes it just happens. For me I put a lot of my identity in my pant size. I was the skinny girl for a long time. Not size zero skinny but skinny. when I gained weight my first year…

    Fighting the dark

The light isn’t something that can be seen all the time. Sometimes there’s darkness like when day turns to night. The same thing happens in our lives. We have times where things work out wonderfully and some days when things are so messed up we want to sleep forever. It’s natural and human to feel bad and sad when poop hits the fan. I hated it growing up and to this day when I would be sad and people would tell me I shouldn’t be and I should focus on the good. Which I agree with focusing on the good but invalidating people like that will not help them feel…
