Faith in the hard times
This year has been full of surprises. Full of let Downs and Pain. There’s been good too. Sometimes we have to search for the good things.
Through the bad we must have faith there will be good again. It may take some time. The world never revolves around our clocks.
Today, the bad weighed heavily over me. I couldn’t feel anything. I left destruction every where I went. So I stopped and cried. “God please forgive me for not having faith at this moment.” That’s what I said.
God doesn’t leave you just because you’ve given up it you’ve given in. He sees you where you are and meets you there.
God isn’t disappointed in you. He is proud of you. Of how far you’ve come. He sees your tears or your despair and he cries and hurts with you.
A lot of the time we feel like we are alone. But let me tell you, God isn’t into abandonment. He doesn’t leave when thinks get tough. He sees you and he’s fighting for you.
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.””
Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV
Moses said these words to a frightened Israel. God had freed them from slavery and told them about the promise land. These people got very comfortable staying in their comfort zones. All they needed was the faith to go and seek what God had ALREADY provided for them.
They were afraid of the giants. It was hard to see the miracles God did for them in their past when all they were focused on was the future. God had everything worked out. All they had to do was believe.
You may feel crazy to believe that something good can happen to you or to 2020. But it can. You may feel foolish because that is what we’ve been taught. We’ve been taught to fear hope so we don’t get let down. Sometimes we set our expectations in the flesh rather than in the eternal God.
God cares for you. He doesn’t see a failure or a let down. He sees his precious child. You are more than you think. And you deserve to hope. Disappointment can hurt like hell, but if we place our hope in Jesus he will never disappoint. He has good things for you.
Will you believe that today?
