Fighting the dark

The light isn’t something that can be seen all the time. Sometimes there’s darkness like when day turns to night. The same thing happens in our lives. We have times where things work out wonderfully and some days when things are so messed up we want to sleep forever.
It’s natural and human to feel bad and sad when poop hits the fan. I hated it growing up and to this day when I would be sad and people would tell me I shouldn’t be and I should focus on the good. Which I agree with focusing on the good but invalidating people like that will not help them feel better.

sometimes we need someone to tell us to focus on the good though. You can still validate someone’s feelings while encouraging them.

Jesus said in this life we will have troubles, especially if we follow him. The enemy (the devil) loves to mess with people who love God (he loves to mess with everyone though). Jesus also said the path is narrow and few go that way. This applies here too. It’s easy to fall into the darkness and not want to come out. It’s difficult to get away from darkness even when you want to find help.

you’re not alone. A lot of people feel this way, often even. It’s all about our brains. Our minds have pathways. If we want to change a habit or a thought//process, you have to carve out a new path. That’s why it’s so difficult. You are literally building bridges and pathways in your mind when you go against what you usually do. It’s okay to falter and crumble. Jesus will help you get back up.

you are not alone in your brokenness. You are not alone.

you are worthy. You are loved. You are enough.
