Letting Love In
In life we all go through stuff. We all have our own hurts and scars. Trauma and broken hearts can lead us to shy away from love. But love is not something to run away from or to keep hidden.
It can be scary and hard to accept love when someone is trying to give it to you. You might be afraid of it. Afraid of getting hurt and losing something inside of you. But pure love is healing. Sometimes you just have to let people love you.
Letting people love you doesn’t have to be big things. It can be accepting a gift or a coffee from a friend. It’s allowing them to care for you. To hold your hand or spend time with you. Let them love you the way they know how.
It’s okay to take little steps. That’s how healing can begin. It’s time to let the healing start. Don’t let fear keep you from believing you deserve love. You are worth the time and money spent on you. You are not a failure or dumb. You are not a burden.
You are not being punished. You are not unworthy. You are so loved. God would not have sent his son to die on the cross so you could live in eternity with him if he didn’t think you were worth it. Jesus died for our sins so we could be covered in his perfect love. Let his love cover you today.
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:18-29.
Where are you not letting love in?
How can you love others by being open and accepting?
Can you give your fears to God today?
