when depression hits
Recently, feelings of depression have hit me hard. There are a lot of different views on depression and anxiety. If people have told you that what you’re dealing with is not real or that you should think happy thoughts instead you are seen. I hear you. It is very hurtful to be told what you’re dealing with is not valid. God sees you and he hears your heart too. Anxiety and depression are a lot to deal with. It is hard to do things when you are experiencing symptoms of them. I wish I could tell you there was an instant fix to all to these illnesses. As a Christian…

Keeping your hope
There’s been some crazy things happening. It feels like hit after hit of disappointment. Sometimes nothing goes the way we think it will. Sometimes it feels like nothing is going right. It can be hard to put our trust in God during these times. But that’s the best time to trust in him. If we have conditions on our trust, is it true trust when it comes to God? When it’s hard to trust that means there is fear holding you back, fear of what’s to come. So we must hope have hope. Hope is important. What you place your hope in is most important. Struggles with anxiety are well known in this day and age. If you’ve ever felt fearful to do something but your friend is also fearful, if you go and do the feared activity to prevent your friend from being scared—you just combated your fear with love. “Perfect love casts out fear.” 1 John 4:18. God is perfect love. He can eradicate you from fear. Lift your fears to him. Lay them at his feet. He is a kind and listening father. God…

Everything, yet nothing

And if we can’t afford them we lust for them or take out loans. We strive for them. Once we get the car or the house or the wife or the kids we think we will be happy. But when we find get them we look for the next thing. It’s never enough, it never fulfills us. That’s because the things of this world can never fill the God sized whole in our hearts. You think of the Egyptian kings. When they died they…

Who would do just a thing? To befriend an enemy? Like this enemy is quite cleaver. He will tell you that believing in what he’s saying will keep you safe and alive and well off. Know who i am talking about yet? Here are some more clues. He’ll tell you to play safe and not to jump, not moving is better than to risk it for the biscuit.
