    when depression hits

Recently, feelings of depression have hit me hard. There are a lot of different views on depression and anxiety. If people have told you that what you’re dealing with is not real or that you should think happy thoughts instead you are seen. I hear you. It is very hurtful to be told what you’re dealing with is not valid. God sees you and he hears your heart too. Anxiety and depression are a lot to deal with. It is hard to do things when you are experiencing symptoms of them. I wish I could tell you there was an instant fix to all to these illnesses. As a Christian…

    Hoping in God, not things

It can be easy to put your hope in your job, your home or your family. But we’re not meant to hope in those things. We are meant to hope in God. I am a creative and imaginative person so I tend to set big expectations for things. I dream big and crash harder when those dreams don’t come true. When I set my hope in God, he can never let me down. If my hope is truly in him I won’t feel crushed when I lose my job or I don’t get the house I want. I think it’s okay to be sad if those things happen but we…

    Keeping your hope

There’s been some crazy things happening. It feels like hit after hit of disappointment. Sometimes nothing goes the way we think it will. Sometimes it feels like nothing is going right. It can be hard to put our trust in God during these times. But that’s the best time to trust in him. If we have conditions on our trust, is it true trust when it comes to God? Looking at what has disappointed…

    Faith in the hard times

This year has been full of surprises. Full of let Downs and Pain. There’s been good too. Sometimes we have to search for the good things. Through the bad we must have faith there will be good again. It may take some time. The world never revolves around our clocks. Today, the bad weighed heavily over me. I couldn’t feel anything. I left destruction every where I went. So I stopped and cried. “God please forgive me for not having faith at this moment.” That’s what I said. God doesn’t leave you just because you’ve given up it you’ve given in. He sees you where you are and meets you…

    Fear v. Hope

The difference between fear and hope is that fear is without love. You don’t feel fearful when you know you have someone who has your back with you. Struggles with anxiety are well known in this day and age. If you’ve ever felt fearful to do something but your friend is also fearful, if you go and do the feared activity to prevent your friend from being scared—you just combated your fear with love. “Perfect love casts out fear.” 1 John 4:18. God is perfect love. He can eradicate you from fear. Lift your fears to him. Lay them at his feet. He is a kind and listening father. God…

    Hope!!

HEYOOO Life has been a little crazy lately. A lot of brokenness has been brought up, in our country and our everyday lives. What can we do when it all seems to be falling apart? Well, we can pray. We can seek guidence from trusted friends, family members and mentors. What we shouldn’t do is give up. Giving up allows room for the enemy to move more deeply in our lives. Hope is like a slap in the face to the devil. Hoping for our country to be better. Hoping for a better job or a pay raise. Hoping for our friends and family to get better. It’s not dumb…
